The North Village

Aug21

Leaves are turning fast up this way. Must be that folks are starting to think about winter as interest in purchasing here at the Resort has really accelerated. Our North Village Townhome project is sold out and under construction. Fear not, we’re considering building a few more units. If you want more info, e-mail us directly as space will be limited.

As far as Village Condominiums (ski in ski out) another one went under contract this week, so we only have two left. They’re priced from only $329k and include 10 seasons of Family Season Ski Passes and up to $4,000 in closing costs. Again, let me know if you’re interested.

And so it begins…

Aug19

Just got the first ski mag of the year dropped into our mailbox. Backcountry. They’re also publishing Telemark Skier. We buy ads with these guys not only because their Magazines are bought by our skiers and riders but because the guys that run, write and shoot for their Mags are real skiers who understand what’s important and what isn’t. Check them out.

Bear Right – Go Left!

Aug13

Construction at Jay Peak continues at a full boil – lots to look at and lots to see. In the coming weeks, you will see pictures of the 3 main projects we are working on every day – Hotel One and related infrastructure, Slopeside Condominiums Exterior Renovation, and North Village Townhomes.
Future postings will go deeper into each project, perhaps answering those burning questions like “What are all those huge pipes doing in the parking lot?”

These are exciting times at Jay Peak. Our in-house construction management team and subcontractors, DEW and SCI (Hotel One General Contractor and sitework subcontractor, respectively), design team, and regulators are all working hard to plan and implement some great projects . . . and planning for the next projects is right behind them.

Championship Golf

Aug8

My name is Steve Holland and I am the PGA Director of Instruction at the Jay Peak Resort. For the past nine seasons I have been the Head Golf Professional at the St. Johnsbury Country Club. I have moved on from St. Johnsbury in pursuit of teaching full-time. My passion is studying the mechanics of the golf swing and teaching it to students.

I spend my winters teaching at the Pine Ridge Golf Course in Beverly Hills, Florida. I have been spending my winters in Florida since 1993. I graduated from the University of Vermont in 1993 with a degree in Business Administration.

I am very excited to be a part of the team at the Jay Peak Resort. I share the feeling that this course is one of the most beautiful courses in the state.

Marketing Is Fun

Aug4

Our new, well sort of new, branding campaign is being unveiled in Ski Vermont’s Magazine which heads to print in a week or two. This year we poke gentle fun, again, at resorts who put Spanish wine and paella ahead of the actual ski and snowboard experience.

Don’t get us wrong we like that stuff too but it’s not what folks come here for. Truth be told, if you’re a skier worth you’re salt, what pulls you to a ski resort isn’t what’s on the menu, it’s what’s outside your window. Anyway, we’ll have lots more to talk about in upcoming blogs.

And check out this great poster:
